As a health care worker, you will probably encounter patients and family members or carers who are angry, manipulative, demanding or just rude. In some cases, and especially if you work in our emergency department, patients can also become verbally or physically abusive.
This behaviour can occur for a number of reasons and this module has been designed to help you understand these reasons. This module will also give you the skills to be able to manage difficult patient behaviours and will also look at when and how to report incidents and injuries related to abusive patients.
